Steve Merritt

Steve is a qualified Integrative Counsellor and holds a Diploma in Therapeutic  Counselling. He has trained with, and works for, the CRUSE bereavement agency in North Devon. He has also had a wide variety of experience working at the Holsworthy Medical Centre. He is a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and follows their Code of Conduct and Ethical Framework (www.bacp.co.uk). He is fully covered by professional liability insurance.

Steve is an integrative counsellor. He blends three different counselling approaches - Person-Centred, Psycho-Dynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The approach he takes at any particular time will depend on what is happening between you in the room. If you feel that something is not working for you, please say so. If you find that counselling has not helped you to achieve your goals it may be that a different approach would work for you. Steve offers a safe space for you to talk about your problems, without judgement. By building an equal, trusting relationship he can help you to find your own solutions to those problems. He also offer visualizations, or a short Reiki treatment, to help with relaxation prior to a session if requested.
